Whew, the end of last year took me out—literally. I was exhausted, mentally and physically. Even after Nutcracker and moving into our winter off-season, by the time I finally got myself together, it was already time to go back to work.
I say all that to say, I was hoping to start Q1 refreshed, with a plan and a clear vision for 2026…but honestly, it feels like April is January. Don’t get me wrong—these past three months have been full. But I wanted to hold that time for me.
Now, I’m ready to launch. My theme for this next quarter is: make peace and go forth!
I am a planner through and through. I was born into a goal-oriented household—we set vision, prepare for the future, and dream big. So as you can imagine, I’ve been seeing my name in bright lights before I could even fully articulate the vision I had for myself. But I’m realizing now that I’ve been tirelessly running toward a version of myself that I created in my head. Not necessarily based on my current desires, the woman I’ve become, or where I am today—yet striving for the girl that was crafted in my 14-year-old brain.
Crazy, right?
Some of us are fighting to become a person that will never exist. One, because that person would actually be miserable…or two, because that person simply isn’t who you truly are.
My mentor told me to make peace.
We all have regrets—not just moments, but entire seasons of our lives where we would have done things completely differently. But here we are. Accept what you did not do. Truly recognize that it is a part of your story—and then redefine your goal.
When I first started auditioning, I told myself, “You have to define success before you get in the room.” But I would take it a step further—once you are in the room, redefine success based on what you see and experience now.
Q2 is about going forth with joy. I have everything I need to fulfill my purpose, and I can take joy in that. I have permission to be my fullest self.
So I invite you to make peace with what wasn’t done—and run with joy toward what’s next.
Love,
LA
